FROGGY WGTY 107.7 FM recently teamed up with the York Fair administration to once again organize a successful “Preschool Pals Day”.
As a tradition goes, members of the FROGGY WGTY 107.7 FM sales staff spent the weeks leading up to the 2018 York Fair recruiting resources for “Preschool Pals Day”. Customarily, “Preschool Pals Day” is held on the second Friday of the York Fair (September 14th, 2018). Between the hours of 10a.m. and 3p.m., admission to the fairgrounds is absolutely free for one adult with a preschooler. Specials are also offered throughout the Kiddie Kingdom section of the midway. FROGGY WGTY 107.7 FM and its fellow community organizations were on-site in the Community Tent with activities, door prizes, and goodie bags for fairgoers. The station’s own Mr. Froggy even made an appearance to welcome preschoolers to the fair!
Despite some grey skies and an uncertain forecast, the crowd turned out! 635 goodie bags were filled and distributed over the five hours. Froggy’s sponsors included: Hickory Falls Family Entertainment Center, Utz Quality Foods, Musselman Applesauce, Rutter’s Dairy, Brown’s Orchards, Hollabaugh Bros Farm Market, Belco Community Credit Union, Synder’s of Hanover Factory Store, Tevis Energy, and Giant Food Stores. All of which generously donated goodies, coupons, and snacks for the big day.
Overwhelmed with the response from its partners and community members, FROGGY WGTY 107.7 FM along with the York Fair, is more than pleased with the 2018 “Preschool Pals Day” success. “It’s about creating an experience for these kids. Getting them excited about the fair and all that it has to offer. Their smiles make it all worthwhile.” Scott Donato, FROGGY WGTY 107.7 FM’s Program Director said Monday morning. FROGGY WGTY 107.7 FM plans to donate extra snacks leftover from the day to the New Hope Ministries Food Bank in Hanover and is already looking forward to planning the 2019 event.
